Paper tearing is just as easy as it sounds. Before tearing decide which edge you want on your layout. One side will show the paper core and the other will not. This will determine which way you hold the paper.

For more control over the tear hold the paper firmly and tear towards your body. Tear slowly to create a ragged edge. For a long ‘even’ edge tear in one long movement.

Heavy cardstock such as Bazzill is perfect for tearing.

Mulberry paper will give a light airy feeling to your pages.

For successful mulberry paper tearing try this. Take a cotton bud and dip in water to moisten. Use the cotton bud to make a line where you want to tear. Gently tear the mulberry paper along the moistened line.

Vellum tears very easily and gives you a less structured look than cutting.

To tear a hole in the middle simply take a craft knife and cute a cross in the paper a bit smaller than the torn area. Pull up one of those pieces and tear it a little more along the cut and then start tearing the shape. Roll the edges under your finger just to finish it.
